Pain & Relief

Why do old hurts sometimes come back to haunt us? One of mine came back to me last night. I woke up crying, but also saying a verse I always go to in times of need. My pain, obviously, isn't gone, but I am already feeling better. I don't know if this verse will speak to you, but for me, it always helps.

Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love, for I have put my trust in you. Show me the way I should go, for to you I lift up my soul.
Psalm 143:8 (NIV)

Let It Snow, Let It Snow, Let It Snow!

Snow. Do you ever wonder why we like it so much? I mean, come on! It's cold, wet, and oftentimes dangerous! Why DO we like it?

It couldn't be because it's soft and delicate, could it? Probably not.
What about how it visually changes our world after a steady snowfall? Nah!
Reminiscent of Christmas? Possibly.

My personal belief is it takes us back to our childhood and unexpected days of no school because of a snow-day. Snow reminds us of days off. If only work would allow snow-days... He he he...

Completion

Some of you know I've been working on a Beth Moore study for awhile (and I know you've began to doubt I'll ever finish it). In fact, as I fell further behind, I began to wonder myself if I would ever finish. It was such an amazing study, though, I just couldn't stand not continuing. Well, guess what... I FINISHED IT TONIGHT!!!! :) I know Beth Moore targets women as her audience, but I would recommend this study for anyone. It definately was thought provoking and an eye-opener.

Survey Says...

So I was visiting a friend this past weekend and she received a survey in the mail. We had a lot of fun reading it and coming up with goofy answers. There were two questions that just took the cake, though, and I feel like I just have to share them with you... For the sake of discretion, I've taken out the state name (like it really matters). Below each question is our random comment. This was just too good to pass up. Enjoy, and if you have an answer to either survey question, feel free to post! 3. Do you agree with the governor's plan to lease or sell the <Insert State Name> Toll Road in Northern <Insert State Name> to private or foreign investors?
---Just how foreign are we talkin' here? What happens if they sell the road to Libya or someplace?

6. Do you support the Governor's proposals to sell, lease, or privatize some of the state's operations, such as prisons, hospitals, highways, and parks?
